About Me

Hi, I’m Harsheen Kaur Chadha, an Art Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy from Adler University, Vancouver. An animal I relate a lot to is a panda, I present to be playful, calm, and curious which is relevant to how I show up in the therapy space, especially when working with children, teens, and young adults. I bring a non-judgemental and empathetic environment with collaboration, creation, authenticity, structure (as needed), theory intellect, awareness, boundaries and a deep respect for each client’s unique journey and personal autonomy.

What I offer is a flexible and congruent, client-centred approach that integrates Art in Therapy, Art as Therapy, and play-based methods. I also draw from evidence-based practices and trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming frameworks with a focus on cultural competence. Whether it’s emotional regulation, anxiety, relationships, oppression, identity exploration, neuro-diverse ways of being, coping behaviours, addictions and trauma, I help clients tap into creative expression as a pathway to understanding and healing, especially when words don’t come easy.

Art and play act as safe bridges for communication in my practice. They allow clients to explore their emotional worlds in ways that feel natural and less intimidating. My approach supports emotional growth, self-esteem, self-awareness, self-compassion, mindfulness, insight, sensory regulation, and connection. I make sure the space is sensory-considerate, emotionally attuned, and responsive to each client’s communication and regulation needs while I take time to build trust and rapport in order to maintain a professional therapeutic relationship. In addition, I work with adults who are seeking expressive, non-verbal pathways to healing, specifically those who feel limited by traditional talk therapy, even though that is also an available option.

In my sessions, clients can expect a safe, welcoming space where they’re invited to show up just as they are. That might look like parallel art-making, silence, tears, scribbles, breathing, storytelling, painting, collaging, craft, sculpture, laughter, play, music or movement, all that is related to creativity and expression. I meet each person where they’re at, with no pressure to perform or explain. Together, we create space for healing that honours their story, identity, and pace. I collaborate closely with caregivers, families, and other professionals when it supports the client, always centering their consent and comfort.

Healing is neither about fixing nor linear - it’s about creating room to feel, explore, learn, change, reconnect and grow. I’m here to walk alongside my clients as they do just that.
